I charge $65 + parts +shipping for a clean, oil and polish and I go over and above what the other places do. I give the machine the complete spa treatment after a tear down. Then after a thorough cleaning I reassemble the machine set the tensions with a gauge and then I will give it a good polish. Then you will receive a piece of broadcloth with all of the stitch functions demonstrated on the cloth to make sure it works correctly and to let you know that I tested the machine thoroughly.

Most shops that I have been in just take compressed air blow the machine out oil it up and bam they are done in 10 minutes or less. Thats why you have a lot of complaining customers and messed up machines.

I just took my Singer over to the Singer man to clean and
it is going to be $88. So that is about right if you don't know
someone that can do it.

My Euro-Pro locked up and before I took it to a repair shop (the closest one was 2 hours away) and paid $150 for they estimate of the problem, I decided to take one more look at it. I took the right side off and the belt was fine. I took the left off, the needle assembly was fine. Then I took the bobbin assembly completely apart and found a black thread wrapped around 2 screws.I took a pair of tweezors and got the thread.Then I put everything back together and turned it on and it worked just fine. But mine is not a computerized model. If yours is,I wouldn't try a self-fix .

the price is carzy if you have ever watched what they do you would just die at the price you paid. i too just found that web site for dvd and book on doing it yourself i dont think i will be taking anything but computerized or broken machine in

Last year for Christmas my DB gave me that book and the one for sergers as my exchange gift. Worth every penny he spent, but I don't have or want a serger. When i re-locate it, I will offer it here, for you serger owners.
