I can sit for an hour or more just playing with colors, shading, etc... with a quilt pattern like that LOL

This is the very basics that EQ will do, it takes less than 10 minutes to do a quilt like that... The blocks are in a library, you can do a quick search to pull them up.
You can change the colors around pretty quickly too, if you are doing them all the same. If you want one color here and there? That takes a little longer.

I think I need (want) that program

I keep telling myself that it is cheaper than the paper and colored pencils I would go through in 3 years... that is about how long I had EQ6 before 7 came out LOL
I also have arthritis and fibro in my hands... so I justify it for medical reasons too
AND it is just plain FUN!!! :D:D:D

I am new to quilting and I have no idea what EQ is? How much does it cost and where do I get it? I loved what you did with creating a visual for us all to see. I think as I progess and learn more I might need a program to help me along. Of course I never knew there was such a thing... (how silly of me, there is a program for everything out there) lol. Thanks again everybody! I LOVE this site.

You can get a basic program for about $30. Library books are free! I am a fan of free!!!!

If you want you can make each and every block different. Sometimes making them all the same destroys the pattern. Especially if you were to try to use all 9patches without blocks or sashes separating them. That second block is there to enhance your main block.

I hope this is the same pinwheel block that you were talking about :D

nativetexan 07-14-2010 06:23 PM
