Is the fabric already cut in to pieces or do you have to cut your pieces? Trying to understand the prices of the kits, etc.
|
You can buy kits either way. I have yet to buy a kit that was precut, but the description of the kit should tell you if it is.
|
Most of the ones I've seen you need to cut the pieces.
|
That's what I thought since I had not seen any description as to precut pieces.
Thanks for the quick replies - |
I've bought both. I like it when they are precut, saves time. :)
|
No, I've never had any extra.
The pre-cuts I have bought were the ones from Joanns |
I have bought 5 kits. From wall hangings to Queen. I buy the ones that I have to cut. So they have whole yards in the kits. They do have precut kits out there just have to read.

just don't wash the fabric before making your quilt if they are cut pieces or smaller strips.!
|
The only precut kits I've seen are on John Flynn's website.
Most of the kits I've bought had enough fabric included so that if I made a mistake (make that when, not if :D ), I could redo the block. Another thing you need to check is whether the kit includes the backing. Some do, most don't. But make sure before you buy that extra yardage. |
i think i recall that a couple of members have said they were shorted on the fabric needed to complete their kits. i suggest that you repost this as a question, such as
" has anyone run out of fabric on a quilt kit?" and see what turns up. |
