Why don't you calculate the amount of each fabric that you need and check it against the amount of fabric you received in the kit? Doing this helps me not be so nervous about making a wrong cut...which I am known to do even after careful prepping.

You can do it!! I've got confidence in you.

Not all quilt instructions are clear, so I may re-read the instructions several times and sometimes checking off each step. Even if I have made the quilt before, I may still check off each step, just to be sure I don't miss anything.

When I have done kits I have tried making a scrap block ahead of time. This really helps and I can always find uses for these orphan blocks later. A friend of mine has a stash of Christmas fabric that she uses for her trial blocks and when she has enough, sashes them and has a quilt!

So far I have done 2 quilt kits & they do sometimes get confusing, remember to read them at least a couple of times, I done a lot of ripping on both of them. But I sure like the way all the fabric goes so smoothly together.
