So fun! She's happy, and perhaps you can buy some new goodies for your Judy class! :)

Beautiful quilt, good for you and them.

That's awesome!
Someone I know was in New York recently with her young adult daughter when a lady stopped her on the street, asking where she bought her unique purse. My friend explained she made it, it was one of a kind. The lady asked how much she wanted for it, and at the same time my friend said, "It's not for sale", her daughter said, "$550!". The lady whipped out the money and my friend got a plastic shopping bag from the store they were near to put the contents of her purse into. And that was the last she saw of her unique purse. True story! |
Your quilt is gorgeous. No wonder the lady wanted it. The turquoise really sets it off.

All the win: $$ (which isn't the reason we quilt but still nice) an appreciative audience, and an excuse to make something new.

What a great story. It’s gotta make you feel proud that someone was happy to purchase one of your works of art even though it was probably worth more than that between the fabric and your time...but hey, now you get to make another one for yourself.

Doesn't that feel grand? I had someone purchase one of my quilts this past winter and I just stood there wondering why she wanted to pay for my quilt. It was nothing special and I knew all of the flaws. But then I smiled, and spent the money on wide backing for other quilts. Bet you will be packing an extra quilt or two every time you travel now just in case this opportunity arises again. By the way, the quilt is GORGEOUS! Your scraps played so well together.

Very nice...great that you 'met' the right person.
|
Don't you just love it when that happens! Congratulations, it is a beautiful quilt.
