So sorry to hear that... I have a husband who likes to pick up things and misplace them but thus far has not done anything of that caliber.

You say he was old enough to know better. He needs a good lecture and a few extra chores. Playing a "trick" with machinery, eventhough it didn't do physcial harm - THIS time - is nothing to let slide. While the "lickings" some were talking about might work for some infractions, it seems a bit joking to me. He has to understand that what he did COULD have hurt someone - like someone said if he does it with other machinery. Not to mention he COULD have ruined your whole project!

You have to think positive and realize that it could have been much worst, like perhaps a pair of shears were close by and instead he choice to play with the buttons on your machine.

Kids will be kids!!!
He could have sewn his finger. Ouch |
I am so sorry but....just think of the story you can tell after you are finished with your first quilt and everyone is admiring. Just be patient while doing the "frog stitch". Walk away at the first sign of complications, and you will do just fine.

fliedermaus, what made you choose your handle: lilac mouse?

No kids in the sewing room.
Look him straight in the face and tell him that he must make it up. Make him work. Let him know how much time you will have to spend fixing this. And don't back down. |

Why don't you introduce the darling nephew to the unstitcher, or better yet, his mother?

i would have caught him and snapped everyone of his little fingers like twigs on a tree...just kidding but he would have probably met my wooden spoon and sat in the corner the rest of the day!
