I also chuckled b/c WE know that you have enough fabric for more than a dozen quilts probably lol :D

I totally denied it. I said something very nonchalant along the lines of, "oh, you don't know how much fabric it takes to make a quilt. It may LOOK like a lot but it isn't really." hehehehehe.

OMG I'm gonna pee!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Use as much as you can as fast as you can.

I just mention the baseball cards.

Say that some of your fabric has gotten old, and you have to treat it differently in order to use it. It has just lost it's strength and can't be trusted to hold up in a quilt. Say that if you are going to use the old fabric and have the quilt last, at least half of the fabric must be new! You'll just have to re-stock!

You could always say it is your investment.. as the prices keep going up up up. Better than interest on the money in the bank right????

Tell him you are spending the kids' inheritance and ask him what he is doing with his share!

When heading out the door, say......I discovered I am lacking several shades of (insert color here) to complete my collection of that shade.

HAHA I love it and can totally agree with your problem.
I made a deal with my husband I don't complain about the model cars, antique telephones, model trains. Can you see where I'm going? So he doesn't complain about my Fabric,Notions etc, Yarn.
We went on vacation and our Son started cleaning out the back corner of the garage he found 50 old oak wall phone boxes. That proved my point. Now he helps me get organized by moving the bins.
His one complaint is that I had bolts of fabric and a big bag of scraps in his oak phone booth.
Oh but isn't it fun and wonderful just to touch and work with all that beautiful fabric? kjym Kathy

I just love the investment and inheritance ideas. You gals are just full of good come-backs! Sounds like maybe a few have been in my predicament? Come on.......confess.....
