My daughter said her friends mother, a long arm quilter, and long time quilter was deshashing, since I was a quilter, would I like to have her fabric. Sure, that would be very nice. What arrived was a surprise: corduroy, pre-quilted polyester panels, thin poly-cotton, 100% polyester, not one piece of cottoning. And even if I was still making garments, nothing was usable even for doll clothes. Now, I don't and didn't want to seem ungrateful, and they were delivered by way of my daughter. So I said, tell her thank-you and I promptly handed them over to my husband who was salivating at the yardage saying, "Is there anything I can use in my tractor shop?" Nothing went to waste, but it is odd what other people think we quilters can use....

I to take orphan project, what I do with these UFO's is finish them into use able quilts and donate them. So just send all your orphan projects to me I can never say no. :(

Since I have been running the donations part of the Quilt Museum, I have been cured of "needing" every fabric! I can now sort the donations and put them out for sale or bag them as scraps or sell them as tops. Being able to sort them, pat them and put some aside to admire takes the immediate desire away long enough for the next donation to arrive. Maybe "renting" out the prettiest pieces for a month or so would also do the trick!

It's some kind of "fabric illness".......wanting to rescue unwanted quilts in need and other's discarded fabric!! I don't think there's a cure!! ☺️
