I love my Olfa mats have two big ones and a small one, I cut up old jeans have have used the small one a lot in the last 5 years when space is limited.it shows wear but has held up well.

I bought and used the Fiskars for one quilting project and it was severely cut up and worn out. Now I bought the Olfa, also at Joann's with a coupon. Much better!!

Get a cutting mat that is at least 36 inches long. That way you want need to buy another one and you expand your horizons into the World of Quilting!!!!!

I bought a 12 x 12 Olfa and immediately I thought it was totally useless. The top tips off the bottom--what makes it "rotating" is just a disc that fits into a depression in the bottom of the mat. If I hadn't bought this item with a 50% off coupon, I would have taken it back.

another note about the fiskars they also tend to dull your blades - I got the 17x17 myself and would recommend that if you can afford it it is a very handy size
|
I prefer the Olfas. I was not impressed with the regular Fiskars, they all feel strange.

the bigger, the better - stick with Olfa

I wore out my Broklyn revolver, feels like sand.
I have the Fisker roatating, I like they way they work better than the Olfa. As for the largest mat, I have a 3 pack combo, bought with 50% off coupon, I think they are 24 x 36 each and have them double sided taped to a conference table, talk about being spoiled! :) |
