Thank -you so much for this post! I will admit to being tardy when it comes to changing my blade. This will allow me to change my blades when I really should.
As much as I hate dull blades, I keep telling myself just one more project and I will change the blade. |
Sounds to good to be true. What size olfa cutter do they fit?
Wished I knew about that before I bought my expensive blade shapener.
I'm sure glad you told us about your find. My husband goes there often, will have to tag along to get me some replacement blades. Thanks a million for the info  |
has anyone tried the cutter that these blades are used for ?i was thinking that it might be good to use for chenille cutting but there is nothing under wheel to stop it from cutting bottom layer...any ideas what we ( quilters ) can use that cutter for ?

went on line to Harbor freight and even there they are on backorder. I bet the carpet cutters out there aren't happy
Thank you everyone for adding info for me. Wow these are taking off fast, as I knew they would.
I have cut out a quilt and it has not damaged my mat at all. They are just smoother cutting. I am going out shopping later and will check a couple of other places to buy these. They must sell elsewhere also. Hope everyone can find them that wants them and all the bo come in quickly. |

I placed an order online before I realized we have a store locally. When I called the store, they have 10 in stock at the same price as online. I tried to cancel the online order and they told me they couldn't do that and I had to call back after 3 PM local time. I will insist that they cancel as they want $7 shipping, when I can just pick it up here. And I just needed some new ones as I dulled the one I used for a while.

Just ordered blades from Harbor Freight. They are on back order. Called the office and expected delievery date to them is Oct. 1, 2010. Will charge my credit card when they are shipped to me. What I have now will last me until then!
Wish I new about them because I went to Harbor Freight with my DH yesterday.
Ouch I did that once and sliced right across my thumb had to go to the ER and the thing is I did not feel it until I saw the blood dripping on my nice white fabric I was cutting the blade is so sharp it just sliced away Ouch again

Wow! My husband is in town looking for parts for his tractor. I called him and asked him to stop by our local store and pick up two packs. This may be a bad move as he will find all kinds of toys for himself there. Oh well! They have 20 packs in stock. If of you are in the San Antonio, TX area you can stop there and pick some up. No shipping, just our typical tax!!!
Thank you all for this great info. DH went on the internet to see if anyone could beat the price, and he said NO ONE. I know they are on backorder, but, I ordered some today. Don't mind the wait, I still have enough to work with yet.
Just found out we have a Harbor Freight in town- going there later to stock up!
Wow, I will have to check this out.

Went and bought 10 packs today at the Daytona beach Harbor Frieght store. At first,I ordered them on line and then I decided to drive down and get them and save the S&H.The owner said that he had a room full. .I called and cancelled my on line order. They also have the those super grip suction mount handles for $6.99 each. They are exactly what they sell in the quilt stores for a whole lot more!!!!!These are blue and the ones for quilters are purple. There is no difference in them except the color! They suction to your rulers for those who may not know what they are. They are used on bathtubs as safety grips.
I've been buying them for a while and have a stock of them in a container. They don't fit every brand of cutter but the ones you've all listed work fine. I've also told a friend so her husband picks them up for her when he's in HF. I love HF!

2 to a package and only $1.45 WOOHOO. I bought 10 packages before they discover quilters are using them and raise the price. They are super sharp. think they are made sharper as carpet is tough. Cut like going through butter. Girl in store said they will have to limit how many a person can buy at a time. They are dangerous. I looked at her and "I am 61 years old I know how to use a blade and one will cut someone just as well at 20." Always trying to take our bonuses away lol. |

AT 40% off at Hobby Lobby the Fons & Porter blades are almost $3.00 a blade.

Stopped in Harbor Freight on my lunch hour and bought the last 10 cutter blades packages, the cashier said they had 90 but over the last 3 days people have been coming in. We have two Harbor Freight Stores here in Nashville, if you want me to pick up and blades when they are stocked let me know by PM, dont mind shopping at all.

Great, but do they really fit the Olfa and Clover cutters, or do you have to get the rug cutters?
They sell the blades seperate. There are two in each pack. I know that they fit the Olfa and the Dritz, but if I am correct someone on here said that they wouldn't fit the Clover ones.
Colleen, I PM you.
They are on backorder but I went ahead and placed my order for 10 packages. That way, I will get tehm as soon as they get more stock. Thanks for telling us about these blades.
I wonder what HF thinks about the run on these blades all of a sudden. Did any of you buyers tell them what we use them for? My DH came home with two packs. He said the salesman had to rummage for them as he never saw them before or sold any. At least now he knows where they are at in his store.I'll go back tomorrow and get some more. I'll also want to look at the cutters and price them. I have a flyer my husband came home with. Some really cute solar yard lights on sale also. I know I have to go there tomorrow.(LOL)

Harbor Frieght has their corporate offices in my town. I drive by them on my way to work. Maybe I will have to stop in after work to the store and see if they have them. |
I wish they had the 60 mm for the Martelli. That is the size that I have and it sure is in need of some cheap blades like the 45mm at Harbor Freight. No luck getting them.I tried. They don't carry that size.
Thanks for the tip. Never heard of them. Put in a mail order. Looking forward to their arival. Thanks again. Anne
Might see about them this weekend. Sounds great and easy on the pocket book,
My golly, I can't imagine how fortunate we are to find this deal. You are a dear to share the news. Of course, as soon as they learn we are buying up stock like mad, they'll raise the prices. Go figure. Thanks again.
Hi could you pick me up 10 packs of blades. I will send you a money order for them.please include postage in price.Thank you please let me know.
Thanks I also just ordered 10 pkgs. What a savings. I really love this site. I learn alot and get to know where all the good savings are. Dotlette
That's a great deal, can you get them from Home Depot also or Lowe's?
I totally agree with you. It gets to be a sham! Blades at the QS and fabric stores are outrageous! Hope HF doesn't raise the price with the new demand.
