No matter what scissors you buy, make sure they are only used for cutting fabric! I've had some cheaper scissors -no name brand ones for three bucks- that worked fantastically.. until I cut paper with them one time, and after that they stopped working well. It was before I knew better.
I think that the duckbill scissors are ones with a normal shaped blade and then a humped blade.. if that makes any sense. Correct me if I'm wrong someone! I'm using Mundial scissors and they've been holding up very well, but they aren't angled so I have a hard time cutting clothing sewing patterns out with them.. I've been practicing using a small rotary cutter and it's been working mostly well, but I still need scissors to get into some places and corners. I should probably get them sharpened soon... my LQS actually sharpens any scissors for .49 cents a pair, so I'll be doing this pretty soon. I do plan on investing in a pair if ghingers though. I've got a tiny pair for cutting floss and thread and they work fantastically! |
I also like a smaller pair with a 2-2 1/2" blade, for doing finer cuts. I have a pair of finger nail scissors that I use for smaller curved pieces. :D:D:D

I like the Elan embroidery size scissors for cutting small things out. They're serrated.
