Is there any other color but blue? I find my stash is full of blue in any shade. I also am drawn to any fabric with bright gold or silver metalic. I love Asian prints but don't know what I'd do with them.

I have a large stash of Asian prints and most of the time I just look at them and fondle them!

I love those deep, intense colors of batiks best!

Catlady 01-14-2010 04:01 PM

My whole stash is bright colors and orientals, so I guess
I'm snappy!

I lean towards batiks...........they call my name! If they are blue, green or purple, well lets just say, they have to come home with me.

I love rich intense colors. I "work hard" to buy out of my comfort zone. I like the subtle laid backs for quilt backs. I'm a hand quilter, and sometimes batiks are tough on my hands, but those Moda marbles...

O.K. WHAT DOES " AVATAR " STAND FOR?

I don't think that it is an acronym. The term comes from the games where a player can select a character to represent him or her. That character is called the Avatar. We refer to the picture that everyone has posted to identify themselves as their Avatar.

I tend to gravitate to snappy or jewel tone colors but love quilts that others make using earth tones and more subdued colors.

Thanks MadQuilter, been trying to learn all the quilting acronyms.

When I go back through my fabrics, I find most of my fabrics were layed back. But lately, I find myself picking "snappier" fabrics - sometimes over the top for me and I love them.

I love fall colors and large floral prints.

amma 01-17-2010 12:19 AM

I buy a lot of brights and warm tones... I guess I just can't make up my mind which I like best :D:D:D

let me put it this way i bought apiece of black material that had white poka dots the size of a fifty cent piece almost .just because i liked the way the material felt not the looks of it an my daughter who's 24 now seen it an fellin love with the silly stuff.my first thought was for it to gointo a black an white quilt.but i guess she changed my mind she likes theold pesant type shirts an I think thats what i'll make her out of it with medium length sleeves

Snappy I like bright colors and it is cheerful to sew with them.

cindyg 01-21-2010 11:59 AM

I must be 'snappy' because I love batiks. But what I actually buy depends on what I'm making and who I'm making it for.

Mousie 01-30-2010 04:50 PM

uh - if by laid back you mean muted, I would have to say snappy.
But I have so much that is somewhere in between. I like to do some things with pastels occassionally, and I love autumnal colors with the darks and then the goldens and oranges.
I'd say if I start doing something a little toned down, at some point I have to 'snap it up'

Pzazz 02-06-2010 12:18 PM

I like a mix....but do tend to gravitate more to the brighter fabrics. Even a darker colour can be "snappy" if it has intensity.

Definately snappy, love bright colors the brighter the better especially batiks. Pink is my favorite color so I have lots of pinks, but anything bright and bold I gravitate to it seems.!!!
