Sorry, but depending on price, I'd be one of the ones talking you INTO getting it!

Think of the good turn you'll be doing her - she'll be able to move sooner ;)

Sorry, woman if you don't hock your kids for it, I will.

OMG - see about at least getting one of them! They sure don't make them like that anymore. I have been more sorry about things that I did not buy than things that I did buy.

patski 01-14-2013 12:23 PM

go ahead and buy them! (lots of help from this group)

I'm with everyone else - I have a 2 vintage machines (one a featherweight), and I'm stopping at two - but if a featherweight came up at a reasonable price, I'd get it in a heartbeat. If it's not affordable for you right now, you could consider a swap of some sort - or make a quilt for her.

fien777 01-14-2013 12:44 PM

sorry, although everyone here says just the opposit...you say you can't afford it right now?
If you really really can't just don't do it.......IMHO....unless you can swap to get it for free

Do you have kids or a pet...will she trade?!:p I too, am an enabler...find some way to get one of them...they are great!

Speaking from the experience of a very long life :) I will tell you that I have often regretted the things I did NOT buy. I'm still kicking myself that I didn't buy the life-sized wooden pygmy for $95.
