I am making a quilt from silk shirts and I'm using Mistyfuse, which was recommended by board members. Fuses at a low enough temp for silk and doesn't change the hand.

Misty fuse is a fusible web, not an interfacing. I'd go to a decent fabric store and see what they have on the shelf and read every single label to find the right one.

I had purchased some thrift store ties to experiment with before cutting up the real ties. I tried spray starch using two applications. Then I carefully sewed three different weights/ hand together. I was pleasantly surprised. Since I only used the starch on the back, would I still need to wash the quilt when it's finished? I'd rather not.
I also found a piece of lightweight knit pellon I had that was years old and it didn't stick very well. Maybe too old? |
