I just found a really good deal on a Rowenta Iron at a garage sale. The lady had it marked $2 but didn't know if it would drip water or not but she said I could have it for $1 so I purchased it. Now, I really, really like this iron mainly because it doesn't have the automatic shutoff but I used water in it today and occasionally it would drip water onto the fabric. Why is it doing that? Do I not have the steam set right for the fabric setting. I had the steam setting in the middle and the fabric setting for cotton. Anyone know why irons drip water or in some cases they just spew the water out.

I was given a Rowenta for Xmas a few years ago and after about 6mos it dripped. Not only that when it's left standing the water drains out of the bottom! I've heard a few stories about faulty Rowentas.

I don't put water in mine. I use a spray bottle for water. Works fine that way.

Does it have a self cleaning button? Could be a mineral buildup from the water.

Most irons are incontinent.

i haven't put water in an iron in years...they all start leaking, spitting and spewing after awhile and i got tired of having to replace them. now i keep a spray bottle on the end of the ironing board and my iron is WONDERFUL! and i got mine for $12 at wally world 4 years ago :) my $139 iron lasted about 4 months

I had one that leaked all the time. Tossed it and bought a different one. That may be why the cost was $1.00.

All steam irons eventually drip. I finally quit using steam. I either spritz my fabric with Best Press or water in a spray bottle.

You got that right! :x
