Thanks to everyone for your suggestions. I think appliques win!! I will be watching for the perfect one for this quilt. (Just hope I don't find more little places that didn't catch in the seam.) I've checked it over once or twice, but you sometimes miss those little places.

Can you fold an iron on patch to fit inside unfold and iron it down. Then you can stitch over the seam area if you want.

What you could do is buy the fabric that goes into a jet printer. Scan a patch of the fabric and then use that to replace the patch.

I have done this when I only needed a small piece of fabric to finish a quilt and I couldn't find it anywhere.

My Mom would use appliques to cover a multitude of sins !
