I have done some of the blocks, but not in the color scheme I think I'm going for with the SBS. Linda, your quilt is beautiful!!!!! |

Thanks for this information. I did locate a book and hope to get started before long. |

Go for it! I'm making a Dear Jane (4 1/2" blocks) and although I've been sewing and quilting for many years I've learned a ton from this project. It's a great challenge. My recommendations are: use the best fabric possible, use a dry iron with spray starch, pre-wash all your fabrics, buy an add-a-quarter ruler. There is a great website called Twiddletails that focuses on Dear Jane but has a boatload of info on piecing small blocks. I use her freezer paper/paper piecing method. It is so much better than using regular paper and having to tear all the paper out at the end. Have fun with this project!

No, I have never done one, but it sure is pretty.

I am working on mine- I just do a block when I feel like it and it will take a while. It is a beautiful quilt.

I think all of you ladies that have done this are awsome. It is far to big of a project for me to attempt to I admire you for doing it. I do so want to finish something I start and I'm ashamed of all the kits, fabric and patterns I have that are just begging me to make something. I think I am the worlds queen of unfinish projects.

I have lots of unfinished projects too and I'm going to try to finish them. I thought this project would keep me from getting bored and I could just work on it when I need a break from the other proijects. I'm not going to rush it. If I do 1 block every week or 2 will be okay. I'll just keep piling them up and see where it goes.

I think that's the way to do it. It took me about a year to finish all the blocks, but some weeks I only did one block and other weeks I'd do five or six. Just enjoy it as you go!
