It's your house. Any visitors who come haven't paid for it and don't clean and otherwise maintain it, right? Nuff said.

Same as everyone else - go for it! I have my studio set up in our second living room. It has just taken over!!! Luckily my family is great and really supports my passion - or maybe they just know I'd toss 'em out and take over their bedrooms for more sewing if they complained??!! ;)

I have the most supportive hubby. He keeps urging me to move my sewing room to the living room. My struggle is I would still like it to be a gathering place for us. I am one of those types that it has to look nice as well as being functional. I would love to see pictures of your living rooms that you also use for sewing rooms.

I would go for it, I know I sew from a rolling table so I can move it where I want but I wish I could have a dedicated space.

Who said it has to be a lining room. The space is suppose to be a living room only if you spend the majority of your time there. Now if you spend the majority of your time in the 'sewing room' that should be your living room. So in other words go for it. Your living space should be what and where you spend the majority of your time living. For you, me and many others that is our sewing pace. Go for it my dear.

I think if you have your sewing room in your living room then you will feel comfortable and if you want to sew for a few minutes you have accessiblity for a short sewing time. Enjoy your space.

I would love to see pictures. All your ideas sound wonderful. Sadly I am a visual person.
