I use the June Taylor 'Cut and Press' on my flat, wooden homemade folding TV tray. If I need to trim a seam, I just flip it and no need for two trays. Doing a Log Cabin right now and having it next to my machine work is easier and saves much time than getting up and down constantly to get to the ironing board.

I have one too and love it.
I set it by my machine when piecing
and take it to the living room when doing applique
and then off it goes to quilting class!

I have a small ironing board I lay across the arms of a chair and have it next to my sewing machine for the smaller projects or blocks, but get up and go to the big ironing board for the larger things, just so I move around a bit.
But the tv tray sounds like a great idea too. Will have to watch the garage sales for an older one and fix it up to have on hand as well. Thanks for the great idea. the machine lady

I made one a few years ago...used several layers of aluminim foil on the bottom, then batting and muslin. It's very convenient and I still use it a lot.

I gotta make one of those. My sewing room is too small to have my ironing board set up so I usually have it in another room. I guess I get some exercise that way though.

I've had one for years - had read about how to make one in a quilt mag.
Mine has a thin layer of batt under a pillowticking cover.

I used to have to go into another room where I had an ironing broard set up - not enuf room in Quilt Room - so this has been a God-send.

I have one also, learned about it here on the board and made it myself. It's very handy, no getting up and down to press blocks. Keep my little ironing board on my right and trash can on the left. Now I can sit in front on my machine and piece "till the cows come home"!

I took an old tv tray and an old ironing board cover and slipped it on the tv tray. Flipped the try upside down ,streched it and stappled it . It folds up for easy storage and its just the right size for next to my machine. I hope yall can use this tip. It really is a lot easier than getting out the full sized ironing board.

Great idea. Love the picture of your babies!
