frustratedquilter, That is amazing work. Quilts with small pieces fascinate me, but I tend to stick to larger ones. It's sashed in my favorite color. which is another reason to like it.

Here is my weekend's work. This is the quilt I mentioned that was in Irish Quilting Volume 1 Issue 2. This pattern appeared a while ago but never had the time to assemble when I was working. (Usually only did lap quilts.)It's a scrappy quilt with several different types and sizes of blocks-nine patches etc. Not sure where I'm going with it yet-think I might offset the darker blocks with some lighter-still have many more to make-I'll be asking for input as I start to assemble.

Sew biz- I really like that you have the accent fabric around the borders and then the "chess board" in the center-- for some reason I've been humming "Go Ask Alice" ever since you posted that LOL!

Artsyone- That's looking good, esp. with the smaller scale elements-- can't wait to see it all together.

Quilt mouse- I love it! Those bright colors against the black speak to me and the wonky woven effect is very cool!

Frustrated- that would be my moniker if I tried something with that many small elements-- that's going to be a special quilt when you get it done.

I got a little more done on a 3 way collaborative art quilt, DH designed the fabric squares (they are small samples of larger fabrics he designed and had Spoonflower print, our friend painted the circular element that has the small circles inside it- he calls them bubbles. I appliquéd those pieces onto the black fabric, sandwiched and have been quilting it. Still has quite a ways to go before it feels like the individual elements are tied together, but it's been fun to do. It's about 36" x 50" and all the quilting has been done on my Sweet Sixteen.
here's a peek:

Forgot to post. I did finish quilting the 2 baby quilts. They are patiently waiting for the binding to be cut and applied. Even managed to tidy up my sewing room after all that.

Everyone's been awesome this past weekend. I did sew a lot, but due to being in the woods internet didn't let me post. Tried to chime in a couple of times but my words went into the bit bucket on my kindle. Loved all the pictures of quilts and plants. First let me show you where I was sewing at so you understand why bad service.

Weather was wonderful, little warm but we had a breeze so it was ok for most of the time.(Until we had to come back to the city 100 yuck.)

I started and finished the table runner that work needed for a sample.

Ignore the other quilt underneath.

Made the binding and attached most of it over the weekend, today I finished the binding on one of the Mystery train rides need to figure out which number.

This was the first totally by hand quilting. Not bad but I need more practice.

But most of my time was spent on piecing the chemo quilt I have been making.

I have a few strips to attach then sew the big sections together. Should have this ready for the borders by Friday.

More nice quilts.

Dedemac: Minnesota or Wisconsin? It looks like a river.

Dedemac 05-31-2018 03:57 AM

Thank you for the compliments. Did I say it's a boy graduation gift?

Nesie, I love your two daisy fabrics. I also love that fabric that your quilt blocks are laying on. Very vintage-sheet-ish.

Thanks Quiltmouse! I had been collecting daisy fabrics for awhile. Some are Cynthia England. She had some nice collections a few years back. Finally figured I'd use them!
