I've got two quilts to bind and another to put together. The blocks are done and sewn into strips but the strips need to sewn together. It's a RBW for a cousin who was in the military.

Yesterday my friend came over and I helped her mark yhe border of her quilt wiyh a braided line motif. then I went ahead and finished up the last 4 quilted placemats that I made from home dec fabric rthat came from grandma’ s house. And started a clothesline trivet from the scraps. I hope to getbsome more quilting done on one of the collaborative pieces since we are getting close to our deadline for applying fo gallery shows. Unfortunatly I have a lunchtime meeting that will cut into my quilting time...

I've got my Ringo Lake on the LA frame today. Got to get a bit more work done out in the garden before it heats up, and then I can get back to the AC and quilting.

Rob, yes... used the new big Juki to quilt all of those quilts. I just go for it! I know that eventually it will start to look better.

Hey, what did you use to mark your friend's quilt? The best thing I had found was the frixion pen... until I found out the marks come back when the quilt gets cold! So I've been using a Clover white chalk marker. I don't love it. Hard to mark with and the chalk falls off before you get to it. Would love to know if you found something better.

Still working on the 2 baby quilts. I've got about 2 more rows to quilt on one. Then will load the other one. Hopefully will get them quilted by Monday evening. Thanks for the motivation!

I've got all, about 555, blocks cut for the graduation gift quilt. As I started to put my FQ away, I realized these bits were just the ticket to cut out my remaining 16 of 270 six inch sq in sq blocks. Pulled 3 more fabrics, cut 32 fabrics, ready to die cut.

No quiling done yet. Yesterday bought plants, went grocery shopping. Today, planted, watered in, and fertilized. Will be off to the sewing room after we eat dinner. Only have morning to quilt tomorrow; picnic in p.m. Have revised my goal to finish quilting and binding Dance of the Dragonflies and finish this month’s $5 quilt coub blocks.

It was a white border, so we used a water-soluble blue pen (I think the one made by Clover). My experience is that they stay put until you spritz them with water, then they go away completely.

For dark fabric I almost always use a sliver of soap-- it stays on longer than chalk markers and is just as visible. I've also tried the sew line white pencil- it seems to stay put fairly well, too.

Have you tried doing any ruler work? I find that If I use a combination of ruler work to divide the quilt, and FMQ in between divisions, I can get away with minimal marking on most pieced quilts. Whole cloth or modern quilts with lots of negative space require more marking.

Today I got some more done on a collaborative project. I think it's getting close to done, so I cut off the excess on the edges and will do a rattail binding on it before deciding if it needs more embellishment. May have some pics tomorrow.
