My understanding is that you mix a few drops of essential oil into the vodka (a small amount of the cheapest stuff you can find), and then add distilled water. The vodka does something to spread the oil throughout the bottle so that the oil doesn't get on the fabric. You then use it for pressing.

I've never used either, but I may try the vodka idea. I don't like starch (except on my dinner plate). With vodka & cranberry in my glass. ;-)

Vodka mixed with water is good for getting out wrinkles without the stiffness of starch.

Linen spray isn't a starch but smells nicer than plain water to spritz fabric before ironing.
The vodka is to kill any germs in your water so if you keep the EO and water for a while it won't grow nasties (bacteria).
Shake well before using. It adds a nice scent to linens when sprayed before bedtime and the alcohol evaporates so it dries faster.
Some EO's will discolor fabric so test before using.

I knew it! Proof positive that Vodka is good for you -after all it kills germs in water - and humans are 90 - 94% water; ergo Vodka kills germs in humans! Gotta go -- still time before last call to kill a few germs!

I learn so much from this board! Now I can press fabric, erase wrinkles, and kill germs with just one product.

I had never heard of the vodka use for quilting either...when I saw this post, I actually thought it may be someone who was having some troubles with starching...and was contemplating a sip or 2 of vodka...lol...now, mind you, I don't drink...so, I can't use that excuse as to why I didn't get this post at 1st...lol...
