Me personally I really like a pastel turquoise but that is just me

Yellow is a great color for a sewing area. There is a great range of shades to choose from. It simulates sunshine and reflects more light than any other color. I don't find that it alters the perception of colors at all and it makes for a nice cheerful place to work. Ann in TN

Martha Stewart's colors are wonderful!! However, I can't help you- what I like may not be what you like.

By looking at the picture, I realize y'all mean that you can actually see your walls.lol With everything in my sewing room, I can't see much of my walls. I have a large antique quilt on one wall, a large closet, a large tapestry of a cat with an antique machine, 2 windows, a wall mounted TV, 2 large shelves mounted on the wall close to the ceiling so I really only have about 6 feet of lavender wall space left to see above the corner computer desk and that has a clock in the middle of it. Personally, I think the lighting is more important that the wall color. Wall color should make you happy. Lighting should make the fabric happy.

Yellow is a great color for the sewing room, because it is not only a cheerful color, but it is more like the sunlight, which is perfect for sewing.

White or off white is best for me. But each his own.

I looked at the reflectivity rating on the paint colors (often listed on the bottom or back of paint chip strips) before I chose my wall color. I found that a pale yellow had more light reflectivity than white! I ended up using a color called "Havanna Cream" by Behr for most of my house (expcept kid's room/bath). My husband hates yellow, but loves this color. We find it very soothing.

I vote for pale yellow. That is the color of ours and it is bright and cheery.

I repainted mine a very soft yellow green. Kind of like a field in early spring. Very very light color.

I have two walls that are white and the other two are greyish-green. The white areas and windows are in the sewing portion of the room. Since I find the the morning mist in the tress peaceful, I chose the greyish-green for the accent walls.
