I just love you guys. I had never thought of using used dryer sheets while I have been playing around with my embrodiery machine. Now I've learned how to save a little money :) Oh the things you can learn :D :D :D Thank you so much

I'm getting up somenerve to try applique soon.....maybe using the freezer paper technique but this dryer sheet thing seems simple enough. On one of the links posted, I read that freezer paper can shrink in the widths.....you should preshrink it by spraying it with starch and pressing first. Does anyone actually do this....so what if it shrinks, does it create a big problem or not? Which side of the paper do you spray and iron?
Applique is confusing to me...reversing the designs, ironing the freezer paper to the wrong side of the fabric....it's a lefty dyslexic thing for me. |
coffee filters have been my life saver..they are perfect to put under applique projects ...then applique away!!!

Use dryer sheets to back your quilt labels too with the same applique process.
Iron them and trace your pattern on old dryer sheets for paper piecing... eliminates tearing away the paper. So I'm told...not that I've tried this yet. |
