this is 'rings that bind'. no curved piecing. the price on amazon is crazy. the book is $24.95. on the picture of the book, click on the choice for the back cover to see the possibilities. it's done like a flippy thing with the addition of machine applique. google 'rings that bind' for other info. edit: i just thought of a good comparison. it's done like a fake 'orange peel'. exactly the same with your choice of back and front. the back has the rings that turn over to the front. |
quilt smart that's it not elenor burns like I had posted earlier. This method is super simple and there is not a single curve to it. I plan on making another one this same way but using nothing but scraps on the circle piece. Thanks for reminding me of the Quilt Smart method I always attribute it to Elenor Burns stuff cause of the bumpy stuff. Enjoy.

Thanks for sharing this info. I've always loved this pattern but thought it was difficult with the curved pieces. This modern version looks very simple

I just started the Double Wedding Ring using Marti Michell's templates and while it's challenging, it goes together real good if you just watch your accuracy when cutting and sewing. I hope that it's next year's August 13 or you're already behind the eight ball!!

Kay Woods has Cheryl Philips on one of her videos that takes you step by step on making the DWR quilt called rings that bind. It is very easy to follow & goes together fast. Very worth using this method.

Here it is! I have this cut and ready to sew in poppy colors! From McCall's Quick Quilts Dec/jan 2011 ; Page 8 Modern Wedding Ring designed by Gerri Robinson EDIT: http://www.mccallsquilting.com/lp-we...thank-you.html I just checked it out. It looks so pretty. This may help you see what it looks like! Download the wedding qiults E-book and scroll down to the Modern Wedding Ring. It uses snowball blocks and strip piecing around a center square. EASY! peace |
