Over 20 years ago, my husband named our dog Avatar. He said it was a character from the adult animated movie called Heavy Metal. LOL

Duh.. I should have known.. Can't we google anything ??
Thank you Katei.. I appreciate you. I would have been putting words in google for a month before I got the right ones.. The secret of finding stuff is asking for the right thing! |

Mine is iceplant that grew on my hill this Spring. I love that color!! Oh yes, and let's not forget Avatar is also a cool movie!

Even tho I'm 68 I've played many computer RPG's (Role Playing Games) where I am the hero usually out searching the countryside for dragons, monsters and all round baddies. This person is known as the avatar so I always thought it meant a leader or hero. What does the dictionary say? (Too lazy to look it up)

Avatar: (according to Webster's New Collegiate dictionary)
1: the incarnation of a Hundu deity (as Vishnu) 2: a: an incarnation in human form b: an embodiment (as of a concept or philosophy) usually in a person 3: a variant phase or version of a continuing basic entity. So you're right.. That hero you play is just a 'variant version' of YOU! Perhaps it's the real you and the smiling 68 year old is the variant version... perhaps? |
