I use to buy quilters dream by bolts and batts for our store. By the inch it is the same price. Still my choice, but I no longer have the store. I buy batts for easier storage and queens with the occasional king. I cut them as I would the rolls. When using only part of a batt, I take a pernanent marker and put the scrap size on the outside of the bag and tape or staple it shut. I have a list of the size pieces on my pinup board and when I do a baby or table runner, I check the list and use from the scrap pieces.

I mostly stick to warm and natural or warm and white. You might want to think about purchasing a whole roll of batting at JoAnn's if you get a 40-50% off coupon as it will save you the shipping. We order batting from online for our quilting group as the nearest JoAnn's is about 1 hour away and we do pay about $25 shipping on a whole roll.

I love QD - very drapable and the quilting shows up nicely. My second fav is Hobbs 80/20 (although I do wash it before using it in a quilt). I'm not a W&N fan, but that's just me.

The shipping can be expensive, yes, but there are a couple of stores online that carry Hobbs that often have specials on shipping (i.e., $10 for a roll). That's when I'd order!

I like Hobbs 80/20, I purchased mine from www.Batt-mart.com I bought 2 cases of 6 each of queen size 90x108, the cost including shipping to Calif. was $282.00. That works out to $23.50 per bag. Our group decided it was a good price and since the batting was queen size in bags we would not have to measure off a roll to divide it up. We make lap quilts for nursing homes and the queen size works well for us. The king size is $125. for a case of 4 and it is 120x120. Someone in our group figured out the yardage of the queen size versus the king size and figured out what size we use for our quilts and then she figured out how many we could get out of each size. I'm glad she did all the figuring! Batt Mart also carries Quilters Dream and some other brands. Personally I don't like Warm and Natural. I like the Hobbs fusible and non-fusible, it washes well, doesn't have a lot of lint nor does it bunch up.

I've loved the Warm and Natural line and also used the QD and the Hobbs 80/20. But I'm a recent convert to Hobbs Polydown, mostly thanks to Charismah's posts. The BIG reason I like it now is that it scrunches down so easily that I can get more of the quilt into the arm of my domestic sewing machine....and it's much lighter weight than cotton. Also, I quilt fairly minimal designs and like the loft of Polydown. After Christmas I ordered several large batts on sale from Fabric Depot....I think the queen size was about $11...and got free shipping for an entire order over $50.

Quilters Dream is a little more expensive but so worth it!

I only use Warm and Natural and when I have a lighter fabric quilt I use Warm and White. It is natural and washes and wears wonderful! I am a low loft kind of gal! lol

I like dream cotton.

I buy Warm and Natural or Warm and White by the bolt. Good, strong all purpose batting and only needs to be quilted ever 11 inches or so.

Quilters Dream-Select is my absolute favorite! So soft & drapable, stitching shows up nicely, not too much shrinkage. I just used the Deluxe on a king size quilt for my bed, and that's nice too. A little heavier, but still lays nice.
