My husband also, took a folding table, extended the legs with PVC pipe and it is great. Use it for family dinners by just removing the pvc pipe.

My son bought me a great table that I use. It has 3 hight adjustments, and I set for me. I use the dining room table sometimes if I don't want to take out that table; but it makes my back hurt....too short.

I have a back problem and a knee problem so use my bed with chair like an office chair with wheels and a piece of plywood on the bed works for me

You can also use the 48 oz. juice cans to put under each leg. I bought a 4' at BJ's that has adjustable legs.

I have a 6 ft folding resin table I put it up on bed blocks and that was the perfect ht. for me I'm 5ft 3 then when I remodeled my kitchen I re=purposed the old base cabs I bought 2 sheets of 1/4in plywood and 2- 4x8 sheets of counter top laminate now I have a 8x8 area or 2 areas of 4x8to use Its so much easier to do cutting and sewing the quilt rows together and the best part is when I quilt on my Singer the quilt is all on the table no more struggling and wrestling it into position My sewing back-aches are a thing of the past :D

The bed risers are available at Bed Bath & Beyond for under $20 - less if you have a coupon. The problem with them is that they only rise the table to a certain height and if that is not tall enough or too tall for you that is it. The most usable option is to cut PVC pipe the size you need (don't forget to include the end cap size also) and then the table would be the exact size for you. PVC and end caps are available at any home improvement store. I usually just buy a length of PVC pipe (whatever diameter is correct for the existing table legs) and cut them myself. Have fun.
