I am a hand quilter and I use sheets for the backing - I do not have a problem quilting it. The one I am doing now the sheet is an old sheet cotton/poly and working just fine. Some I piece, but can not afford it now so using sheets that I no longer can fit on the bed.

I've used sheets several times for the backing on my quilts and found them to work fine. I hate having to piece the backing but I love the way ghostrider pieced hers.

Muslin (I whisper), but it is GOOD quality muslin. So I'm old-fashioned!!

Most of my quilts are backed with bed sheets and have also used mattress covers and bed spreads.

Ditto. I'm thinking of going to Lancaster next month. Where do you buy your backings?
