I just finished my DNP scrappy quilt. It was a lot of cutting, sewing, cutting, sewing, but so fascinating to watch the final blocks come together. It was really fun to do. I think that because there is so much color to it, and so many seams, I would like to tie it. It is for my studio couch. I tied one quilt with embroidery floss, but know some people use yarn, cotton perle, other? What do you like to use? Thanks.

I have used both embrodiery thread and pearl cotton. I think I prefer the pearl cotton to work with.

Another vote for Perle Cotton.

Perle Cotton. I would use embroidery floss but my friend swipes it to finish off fleece throws with or my daughter to make friendship bracelets. They don't seem to like the perle cotton unless my friend is making wash cloths--then she prefers the white or natural color & just sniffs at my pastels and variegateds--LOL. I don't like plain white anything so I never buy that, even in embroidery floss.

I use yarn. That's what my DGM used when I was a child and the quilts are still holding together.

Thank you for asking this question, Shamrock. I want to tie my Daughter's Bday quilt she asked me to make for her. I was wondering what everyone thinks holds up the best too?

Floss or yarn mostly
