the more time you spend dressing, the less time you have to quilt! :D

I wear whatever I'm wearing when I get the urge to sew. Sometimes PJs, sometimes shorts and t shirt, sometimes, jeans. Just whatever.

I am like you, comfort is priority. I like loose fitting clothes and nothing too warm.

I tend to get really warm when I sew for some reason. So I usually have a real thin, camisole like tank top on and my comfy pajama pants (often rolled up). I sometimes wear my slippers because my kitchen floor sometimes has crap on it (*blush*) and I don't like it under my feet.
definatley PJ's and bare feet! With a cup of coffee and snacks! Oh put the phone near me too. Don't want to have to get up for anything when I quilt. Unless I have to go to the bathroom
I usually wear sweats and only "dress up" if I know someone is coming over to talk quilts. For some reason people tend to think you don't know what you are doing or talking about if they think you are dressed down.
I wear silk pajamas, my diamonds, full make-up, hair in an updo.....yea sure, in my dreams! I think I would fit right in with what you gals wear. T-shirts, and knit jammie bottoms is what I get caught in most of the time. I like to do the housework in my night clothes too. :)
I think it is important to be comfortable when Quilting. If that means pj's or no bra then so be it. I always wuilt in barefeet with pj pants and a loose tshirt.
I stay in my fleecy robe in the winter. Summer I have a lighter weight one! I get dressed sometimes but usually in a pair of sweats and sweat shirt or tee shirt! Only if I am going somewhere do I put on good clothes!
I usually have my jeans on but I always wear an apron for all those tiny bits of string and fabrics.

I have 2 favorite house dresses and 1 moo-moo LOL DH gives me a really hard time about the moo-moo because it's probably a 3X and I'm not that size :) :) My friend lost 50 pounds and she gave it to me and I love the fact that it doesn't touch me anywhere so I continue to wear it.

Sweats and t-shirt all year round. My sewing room is in the basemant so inthe winter I add a hoodie. High fashion!!
Old stretchy slacks with ratty T in winter, bermudas in summer with a ratty T.
I only clean up with clothes when I'm going out. At home...comfy rules! |
I wear sweats or yoga pants, with boot slippers, and hubbys t-shirts. lol!
QUILT NAKED!!!! This way nobody will ever peek in and disturb your sewing! LOL
I live in a warm climate, so I wear a lot of shorts and tank tops. When it is cooler, jeans and a t shirt, unless I'm going somewhere.
No matter what, if I'm at home it's Taz slippers, flip flops or just plain barefooted! no makeup and no fussy hairdo. Home is where this quilter "lives". I don't get a lot of company, although we have a black and white kitty cat coming around that needs a good home. Anybody love kitties, lol? unfortunately my own two contracted feline aids from a stray, so I'd hate to see this one get it. Anywho...coming to my house, to see house, or me, lol? I'll be in my sew cave then... ;) |

MUST be comfy! I only work part time, get home around 2 pm and if I don't have any where to go rest of the day, I'm in my pj's (cotton pants and tshirt)!!! Someone will ask if I'm going to bed early and someone else will say "no, she's going to sew."
I wear cast off football jersey they are big comfy and thread doesn't stick to the fabric. Jeans or capris When a player get traded I get to wear the jersey. They are too expensive to just throw out
Gym shorts and a t shirt in warm weather and flannel pj' bottoms with t shirt and flannel shirt when it gets cooler. NO BRA and my slippers. Also I usually am not wearing my bottm plate. Tough if anyone comes over I dress to suit me and I am comfortable.
Sweat Shorts and a wife-beater t-shirt - gotta a bad back and bras make my shoulder hurt - sleeping apparal - dh doesn't care and he's the only one that counts - oh and the teeth stay in the bathroom, unless someone's comin' over LOL Comfort is Queen!
so glad to hear i am not alone in my "casual attire" It is apparent from the thread comments that we are not "June Cleavers" but than perhaps she didn't quilt?
You mean we are supposed to wear clothes? OMG!
If you are in the privacy of your own home, I wear what I think is most comfortable. I definetly don't wear a bra! I like oversized te-shirts and leggings.
Ditto on what you said. I have my gown on and it is 5:45 a.m. if I didn't have to go to the post office today I would turn around and sew the binding on the quilt top that is crying out for me to pay some attention to her.

As I was enjoying reading through this thread, I thought of something I hadn't thought of in years. So I googled to find it and here is an excerpt. “THE GOOD WIFE'S GUIDE” featuring an excerpted article from Housekeeping Monthly - May 13, 1955. If you want to read it all I put a link at the bottom. Be ready for a good laugh, and be sure to put a nice ribbon in your hair before DH comes home from work!
* Have dinner ready. Plan ahead, even the night before, to have a delicious meal ready on time for his return. This is a way of letting him know that you have be thinking about him and are concerned about his needs. Most men are hungry when they come home and the prospect of a good meal (especially his favorite dish) is part of the warm welcome needed. * Prepare yourself. Take 15 minutes to rest so you’ll be refreshed when he arrives. Touch up your make-up, put a ribbon in your hair and be fresh-looking. He has just been with a lot of work-weary people. Tell your kids to mind their own business. You're old enough to wear whatever "YOU" want to wear. Besides, you are still THE MOM!

[url]http://www.j-walk.com/other/goodwife/index.htm[url] In my house, it's comfort all the way. I went to my exercise class yesterday morning and looked around and noticed how some of the ladies had their make-up on for a 10AM exercise class........wow, I would probably have the lipstick smeared from one side to the other...but I really do envy them. I just can't be bothered that early in the morning...besides it shows the wrinkles more with the make-up than without it. Hey Tru, need to use those bananas more often.....right? |
Pretty much the same. Raggy old sweats and a tee shirt. Long sleeve in winter, short in summer. I either wear socks or my slippers to keep my feet warm as I am in the basement.
My DH and I have been remodeling our house, so there's hardly any clothes I own that don't have paint or caulk on them! Caulk is the "C" word around this house! When I do have a chance to sew I love to wear my old jeans and a Tshirt and sometimes an apron over that that I have my scissors, tape measure, stuff like that put in the pockets so I don't have to continually search for where I layed them down last.

no one is coming that early in the morning. I do get dressed in old split skirt and tee shirt later in he day. |
Yeah- I'd rather sew in my pj's. My grandparents used to say I was in my "gut". Mostly I wear jeans, but they can be uncomfortable as the waist gets tighter when I'm seated. Yeah, middle age!
