Since you didn't mention what kind of sewing, mine has nothing to do with quilting. When I owned my business years ago I sewed a seam inside out 5 times. This was on a custom order and I was trying to field calls at the same time. That was when we finally bought an answering machine and I banned the phone from the studio. My work needed my attention more than taking messages for my teenagers.

Gosh, so many times I lost count.

I recently found that twice is my limit then I just make a new block and add the BAD one to the 'oops' box for a future quilt I've already named MOB = My Oops Blocks :-D

Three times is my patience limit and then it is OH well only God is perfect.

I use the three times the charm rule, after that I have to question my sanity. The other day I was sewing two rows together and didn't get it right until the third time. Just don't understand how I could make the same mistake twice.

Three times...also paper piecing...had to tape the paper together after the 2nd try.

I only take something apart 2 times, then whatever it is, is!! :-) Just last night I had it happen...two points needed to come together, and they refused after 2 more times trying....so, they don't meet and never will!! LOL

I don't know about how many times, but I think I could go around the world with all the thread I rip out constantly! I never used to be this bad, but have always been an expert with my seam ripper.

I am soooo glad I am not the only one! Over and over again. I have a new rule if the 3rd time is not right then maybe something else is wrong and just leave it alone or if it is just a block make a new one. I have even (many times) re-sewed the two pieces back together again after unsewing them because they were the wrong two pieces. I must own stock in a thread company.
