LOL Now that I have removed the hunting, fishing, and camping gearand down sized the Christmas decor my sewing room/sanctuary has special rules for occupation - #1 2 weeks prior notice of arrival date, #2 visitors get the use of
1 queen size air matress, 1 chair and 1 TV tray table and 2 hooks on the back of the door #3 visit no longer that 7 days unless you are one of my sisters, then rules are out and you can stay forever!

Wellllll. If they wanted to sleep ON the Longarm or UNDER IT ON THE FLOOR. IF they slept under it, they would have to move 6 huge plastic bins.

I only have one project going at a time.I have wanted to start another quilt while it was snowing, but forced myself to finish the last 10 Christmas stockings I have decided to do each month for the next crafters Christmas show in our area. Also I had to take out 4 rows of detailed pantograph quilting. I wasnt happy with the stitches, all done and now the next quilt, oh what will it be?

You have all made me laugh. Thanks for making this a fun and informative post. I got to thinking, we wouldn't ask a mechanic or woodworker to put a guest in their shop. Man caves are strictly off limits. My mother, a professional artist, would NEVER allow a guest bed in her studio (which was actually a separate building.) So as serious artists ourselves, we have the right to be selfish about our work space. QUILT ON!

When DD came over Christmas with the 2 grands I put the little guy on a mat in my sewing room. The only thing I had to do was move the drawers of the sewing cabinet next to it. I put the girls on the day/trundle bed in the spare room. Worked fine, but if an actual couple comes I'm not sure what I would do. It is what it is. I sew more than I entertain. It's my life and it works for me.

At the moment, it is a bit dicey to even attempt to walk thru my sewing room...tomorrow will be making an attempt to clear a path.

I have one! And I do use it. Unfortunately, you have to see them to know where to use the magnet. Lots of small things kind of get lost on the floor for me because of double vision and color blindness. Now and then I put the magnetic pin tray I have on the end of the telescoping magnet and use that set up as a metal detector. That works pretty well.

That's a good idea for fabric space.

Have a twin bed in the sewing until we have a yard sale and get rid of the mattered and box springs. I plan on replacing it with a pac n play and rocking chair for my first grand blessing. We also have a futon in the family room. We have a guest room and two twin mattresses that could go on the floor of the family room. Not so many guests.

That's why they build hotels, silly woman.
