I think that your quilting thread is too dark.

Does anyone remember what that technique is called where you use a razor blade and remove stitching from the quilt sandwich by lifting the top and severing the stitches between the top and batting? I know there's a name for it and there's also a youtube video but supposedly you can remove stitching like this in minutes as opposed hours, I just can't remember!

OH well we do learn by doing. Tear it all out. How much did you pin? Agree with all the great suggestions given above. Ill be thinking about you as I tear out some FMQ prior to redoing. YOU are NOT alone, sahm

Several weeks ago I came across a ufo...a queen sized quilt that I had made a total mess of....eyelashes everywhere on the back. I had put it away because I was so discouraged.....I got it out a few weks ago. Jack(my seam ripper) and I spent the better part of a week unquilting it....I didn't think I would ever get through......Now I have it all apart and will put it back together and requilt it....It was a great learning lesson....So get aquainted with your own Jack if you want to save your quilt! Someday you will think of this and smile... :D

I think it was some kind of scalpel. An exacto knife would work too.
