I thought that they were more like guidelines than actual rules.
I'm only accurate when I'm contributing a block to a community quilt, ie a wedding quilt for a friend. Any "mistakes" is just part of the charm & proof that a live human made that quilt for you. |
Oh, yes, it shrinks a lot. And it actually gets softer and fuzzier. Not so easy to sew, but nicer in the long run. Cottons I don't usually wash; depends on what I am making and how it will be used.

I make up my own rules.....NO RULES
|
The only rule I DO follow is the one that defines "quilt"...three layers held together with stitching.

I actually made a quilt out of all polyester fabric. Do I hear the quilt police knocking on my door? :D

Rules? We're supposed to follow rules? Is it a rule that you have to follow rules?
|
*raises hand* ummm there are rules??? Ummm who lost the manual to quilting?
