I would love to see a photo of those picture wall hangings when you're done. That's a great gift idea!

I am ambitiously finishing a fishing vest made out of cordura nylon. It was supposed to be for my husband, but the vest is too short! His long torso made it look ridiculous, so my dad will use it and it will fit him nicely. It's only been in pieces for umm...let's see.....10 months now. I think I can finish it soon.

I am finishing up 2 sofa quilts. One is a Cheifs one for my brother and another one is a Dolphin one for my daughter-in-law. I found a great Dolphin panel on ebay and added some small dolphin print blocks, white blocks and a print that looks like water. I have it quilted <around the dolphins and the border now only have to do the binding on that one. The Cheifs one, I just finished the top and have to get busy on it, time is getting away from me <smiling>. I really am looking forward to starting a photo one though and next year the girls will get them for Christmas.

I am working on pillowcase dolls for my sisters and friends. They all have a crocheted border on the pillowcases and are embroadered. They are turning out beautiful, I think they will like the dolls. I am also doing fleece blankets for two different sub for santa familys using the bunny ear pattern to hold the 2 fabrics together. I only have 4 more to finish and then they are done.

HI VICKIE!
Now, your project seems very interesting to me! I wonder if others here know what a "pillow-case doll" is? I do not......would you chat more about that?? I think that sounds very interesting! I am Nancy, from WI I have been quilting for about a year, (that's all) and before that, didn't do any crafts, so this is real new to me. |
You can purchase the doll kit from the following web site then you can copy the pattern and use your own pillowcases. Go to http://gallery.bcentral.com/GID4990776DD341755-Jack-Dempsey/Pillowcase-Doll-Kits.aspx
I crocheted a border on the bottom of the pillowcase and they are very beautiful. I hope this helps you. |
Thanks, Vickie!! I will look into this!! Looking can't hurt, huh? Bless you!

My gran called these pioneer dolls, for she had one as a small child during the depression because her family couldn't afford one with a china head and limbs. When she did get a store-bought doll later, she hated it and wanted her 'softie' back!
