She caught me playing on the EQ6 - trying different layouts and using the suggestions you have given. (Doesn't know its for HER quilt) Her tastes ran almost identical to mine - lots of mixes of jewel tones. Dolphyngyrl - your list is great! I think I have the seeds planted for my next 2 or 3 projects now!

If you are doing a scrappie then just use some cream or white or even black to "connect" all the colorss. My favorit scrappies are the ones I don't "plan"
Why not try to work in the school colors - maybe not totally, but put them in it. Use a color wheel and work with the colors from it.
You could take lots of 5" batik blocks and sew them together and use the Little Twister template and make a really cool quilt. Use black batik as your border fabric to make the colors pop.

Any 2 color combo.

I made one for my daughter when she went off to college, too. It was in purples, greens, blue and cream. She loved it and still loves it. Everytime she came home from college, she brought it home with her but made sure it went back to school with her! The attached picture isn't very bright, but it has faded a little after so many washings (that was six years ago)! She also likes blue, yellow and white together!

My personal choice is any combo that uses blue as the main color, sometimes I choose a print and select the secondary colors from those used by the designer. piecefully, the old one
Go to Google images and do a search for Quilts, see which quilts call out to you. Use those colors in your own pattern.
I suggest some of your daughters favorite colors.
