My favorite is Mary Ellen Hopkins "Its OK If You Sit On My Quilt". It's an oldy but goody.

Also her Log Cabin is great too.

You might be able to find these at Amazon or Ebay also.

My vote too; love Elenore Burns. Have to include Quilt Blocks on American Barns.

I'm with maryb119. I want to make about 10 quilts from this book!! It's published by Oxmoor House.
I also like 'The Border Workbook' by Janet Kime. Lots of borders and how to size them to your quilt.

just a thought..... several people have mentioned Eleanor Burns books and she has a wonderful place somewhere here on the net showing exactly how she makes many of the quilts people mentioned here... i am a visual person.. and really enjoyed it... just to a search for "quilt in a day TV".. free

I just wondered, what do you think some of the best quilting books are? What are your personal favorites and if you have time, why do you like them?
Thanks!

That Better Homes is a good book, especially for reference, for about everything. I like it, too.

It has everything you need! It is a large binder book with individual chapters. From measuring fabric to all the "how to's" you'll ever need. Well worth the price!!!

I love that book!! It stays on top of my sewing table!!

My favorite is Quick Quilts From Your Scrap Bag by Leisure Arts. I have made several quilts from there and it is a great book to help rein in your scraps and use them. I love the Judy Martin books and then there is a Quilting 101 that is a great book for beginners, comes in handy for me even though I am an intermediate quilter.

My latest favorite which changes every day...is Summer Gatherings...because I can't wait for summer and I love the homespun type of quilts

I have a few E. Burns, just because of the simplicity of the instructions, but, right now I think my favorite one is Judy Martin's Log Cabin, because it gives you a new twist on a old favorite.

The Quilters Ultimate Visual Guide edited by Ellen Pahl is my go-to when I can't remember how I did or should do something. It covers everything from fabric selection to binding.
