Try Joanns or the laundry section of your local grocery store. They are used to mark garments for children going to camp etc.

There are fabric markers that do a pretty good job. They have wide & narrow tips. We used them for a quilt project at church. You are suppose to heat set also like the crayons. I washed a couple of the quilts after they were finished & the color held just fine. You can get the markers at Joanns or Michaels. I would image Hobby Lobby would have them also, but since we don't have a HL, I can't say for sure.
