Everyone has an opinion...and we sure do in our house. I have to admit though that one of them just "counts" more than the other one
Just kidding...my DH has fabulous taste in everything! I always ask his opinion and I can always tell when he is just placating me and when he is saying what he really thinks. I've found that he is usually right one...sometimes he isn't really able to visualize exactly what I am talking about if he hasn't seen something similar to it before, but when it comes to colors...he is always spot on and a huge help to me!! Just ignore DH since he doesn't play that game very well and find some of your other friends to pet your fabs with you. |
I do not ask my DH anything about my quilts anymore. If it is not something that has to do with 50's or 60's era Chevys, he just doesn't care.
The last quilt top I made, I had the fabric sitting around "petting" it. He said, "What in the world are you gonna make with that?" Sigh. "A quilt," I answered. After I got it done, he told me that it was the prettiest one I had made so far. And that was more than he has said about anything I have ever made, except for when I reupholstered the seat in his 65 Chevy pickup. He shows THAT to EVERYONE. On the good side, he also doesn't seem to care how much fabric I have until he can't get to the bathroom! |

I think we sometimes forget that men and women are wired differently. (Not better - not worse, just different). It makes for the occasional challenge. My DH is a sweetheart from the word go. As enlightened as he is, occasionally he breaks out in a cold sweat when I ask him to go to one of those girly topics or when I switch topics on the fly. Watching him grapple is so much fun. (I can be mean) |
My DH has a hard time thinking of more than two fabrics in a quilt but when I'm done he always likes it. I ask his opinion only when there are two choices and I really don't care which one I pick. It makes him feel good that he helped me

He really is a sweety! And always compliments me on my work, especially my stitches!! Feed him first, maybe he will be in a better mood, LOL. Most men could care less so don't let it bother you. |

Got one side done and showed it to him and he thought it looked like a toilet seat!! As for colors, I don't ask. You women with artistic hubbys are very lucky!! He loves my finish projects and sleeps in the car while I fabric shop, so guess I should not complain!!!
short story: he had bought a wall stud finder for me. I wanted to keep it in cave on pegboard...Nooooo, we'll keep it right here, in this tv table, by my chair, where we will know where it's at... me: ok, then. (sigh) So yesterday, we are both looking for it, I remind him of his statement, etc....not there. I come in here, on pc...he goes in my cave. I wait...and wait..."honey? what are you doing?" I go in there, bc he has been in there too long. Just makes me nervous...don't want him to move my BOM fabs, that are sorted for diff. blocks and such...looking for tool... I walk in...he's just standing there, in center, looking around like he has never seen such a place in all his life...he just can't understand what it's all about  |
Men are really bad when it comes to colors. Mine always says that to but when I'm done he says that does work after all. :-) :-)
