I played around with my stitch pattern selector- and I got it to work!!! For some reason, I have to put it in a different setting to keep the straight stitch, but it works it works  Didnt say I had to do that in the manual, but oh well, glad I played around with it more and got it figured out. Im so excited :-) glad it was USER error, as opposed to the machine, or the foot

I would take the second one back also and have someone check it over. If it wasn't bought from a dealer, I would just keep trying one after another until I found one that worked. Masybe if none of them work, the store will give you a free upgrade just to get you out of the way.LOL Or, call Brother and talk to support person.

I'm confused. Is the foot specifically for your exact machine? Perhaps you just need to buy a 1/4 inch foot designed for that specific model?

How frustrating. Can you take the machine in and have them look at it.
