    Hi everyone,

I have a new Sapphire 875 Q and I am loving it - it is my first computerized machine. I am having a problem with the scissors function - cuts the top thread but not the bobbin thread. I took it back to the store and they fixed it - just tried it last night and scissor function worked once and then it went back to cutting top thread but not the bobbin. Anyone else have this problem? Am I doing something wrong?

Can you call the dealer... since it was just there they might be able to tell you what to do to fix it ? At least let them know you are still having problems

I agree, maybe the repair person doesn't know how to fix this?

I have the 870 and sometimes it cuts both...and sometimes just the top.... it's frustrating but it's just back from servicing (1 year) and they say nothing wrong with it. I had the blade ( $1.80 CDN) replaced.... but....I think these machines are made for 100% cotton threads at 50 wt. and if you throw anything else at them, they get confused...

I have the sapphire 830 and they told me it 'didn't like coats and clark thread' and I said that is bull**** I have had my machine a year and now am using some thread that i had before I purceded it which just happens to be coats and clark. and (knock on wood) recently I havent had much trouble. actually one of the 'salespersons' told me that coats and clark was not winding their thread differently and it shoulding be as much of a problem. I say this shouldn't be a problem at all for any machine esp when you pay over $1000 for it ....good luck

I am looking into purchasing this machine - what are your thoughts? I have never used anything quite this complicated and wondered how hard it is to learn how to use it. Any information would be helpful to me.
    Thank you

    Hi Lillian,

When I made this post - I found out I wasn't inserting the bobbin correctly and therefore the scissor function wasn't working right - it was complete operator error. I love my machine and since I figured out how to correctly thread it - it works great.

Do you think that they meant the coated coats and clark thread? I don't believe you're supposed to use it in machines...maybe that was their meaning?
