When I use my rotary cutter, my ruler tends to move a little, so precision in strip piecing is a problem. How do you keep your ruler from moving while you are cutting? Is there something I can adhere to the back of my rulers? TIA

Yes, they sell a non slip vinyl that is self adhering to the rulers and it is WONDERFUL :D:D:D I have it on all of mine now. I can still move the ruler on the fabric, but when I apply pressure to it, it stays in place much better!!!
Mine is called Invis a Grip, there is enough of it in the package to take care of many rulers. It doesn't have to go completely to the edge, I left it 1/2" in all of the way around the edges.

A few spots of glue from your hot glue gun will do.

Thanks for the suggestion. I just found several websites that sell the Invisa-GRIP. It should help me a lot!

When I started using a rotary cutter I had big problems with my ruler slipping. I was cutting nasty squares and nasty slices in my fingers.
I treated myself to a June Taylor-Shape Cut 12" at Walmart.
It has been the answer to my having accurate (blood missing) squares. I would love to have a larger one so I don't have so many folds in the fabric. If you get one, go the largest size they offer. It will pay for itself with one mis-cut on an expensive fabric.
    Good luck.

The Invisi-Grip makes a world of difference. I've put it on all my rulers.
Also, when cutting try to keep one finger (usually the pinky) on the fabric
to hold the ruler in place.

I have never had a problem with mine. But all here sounds like good advice.

This isn't a slipping problem but I have a questions about rulers. My rulers have a film like glare on them. Not the clear film you can buy, but a film from using them. Does anyone know what is the best thing to clean the back of them? I am sure it is just from using them so much but it would be nice to have them clear again.
