Default Program presenter cancels at last minute

How do I fill the time allotted for our monthly program when the person scheduled to do the program cancels less than 24 hours before the meeting? Last year I was able to fill in myself, but I'm out of ideas this year.

Is there a TV/computer available where you could show a favorite quilting video, like a Midnight Quilter episode (don't know if there is a legal issue with this, but I don't see what it would be) Then have a discussion afterward? Or perhaps your group is more advanced than this. You could present info on needle and thread selection from some of those companies that have vids on you-tube.

Late to your party. Can you put together a quick trunk show showing your own quilts? Ask the members to bring their favorites if you have time to get the message out to them.

Our February theme was love so each member was asked to bring a quilt they love and a tool or tip and talk about them. It was an interesting and fun program.

Do you have other program committee members? Get in touch with them, ask them to bring their first completed project. Show members where you started and how much you've grown as quilters. Ask them to bring their first project to the next meeting.

Members should understand about cancellations. Send and email to them all and explain what happened and declare a 'sit and sew' day because of the cancellation. Maybe one of them will volunteer to do an impromptu program.

UFO trade night w/ raffle tickets. By social media and telephone, most of the members were notified to bring any UFO or orphan blocks they wanted to get rid of. We had 6 tables full of them. Put numbers on and sold tickets-cheep. We had 3 people calling numbers and each had a runner to take item to winner. It took an hour and so much fun.

The orphan blocks were 1 ticket/block

An idea on this board is to have a virtual tour of a club members studio prepared for emergencies such as this.

Have a 3 panel discussion to get to know a little about them with questions sent to them in advance.

By social media/telephone etc. let members know there'll be extra time for show n tell-bring extra to the meeting

Favorite tool sharing has worked for us. Also how about some mini-demos on various topics like binding, coloring blocks with crayons, paper piecing, etc.? People will understand about cancellations - life happens.
