    I love using basting spray. It really holds the fabric well. A walking foot is a necessity though.

    I use a walking foot for all the stitch in the ditch work - also for all the really straight lines .. I also use a slightly longer stitch and a quilting needle.

    I use the spray-on basting and it works much better than either pinning or the mini quilt gun thingee which I used for awhile.

    And it still holds no matter (it seems) how much handling, twisting, and turning it has to undergo. I still hold the sandwich tautly front and back though, sometimes. That's a given depending on the quilt.
