I also buy by the roll. I use Quilter's Touch by Pellon. I get at Joann's on sale and last time ordered it from Joann's on line with free shipping and it was regularly $99 a roll and got it for $29 a roll. Ordered 3 with no shipping it was good deal.

I buy mine by the roll when it is on sale. Mostly from Joanns but I did order a roll of 80/20 but forgot where that was also on sale and it was a better deal.

I'm looking for a roll, too. I've been piecing together remnants of batting for the last couple lap quilts, and have noticed a huge decrease in quality in the Warm and Natural (that I've been purchasing for 4 years) When I get to the bottom of the pile of large pieces, I notice the older batting is almost twice as thick as the newer batting I purchased last summer. I don't think I'll get W&N this time around. I have a friend with a LAQ business. I may have her buy a roll for me at wholesale of whatever she recommends. The way I see it. If I'm spending all this money on fabric, why totally skimp on batting. Just take the big hit and get on with quilting!

I have purchased Hobbs by the roll from Quilted memories. They usually have a discounted price.

I love to buy on the roll. But I have bought wholesale from Hobbs and you pay a extra charge for the roll to a residential address. I do not remember what it was, but I changed and bought packaged battings. The delivery charge was a lot less. For a time my LQS would let me order and have it delivered to them. They did not charge the extra charge.

I buy by the bolt as its easier for me due to no fabric stores nearby. The store I do order mine from gives me a 30% off so can't beat that. I used to use W & N but have gone to Hobbs 80/20 and I like it much better. Seems more dense than the W & N. As I have some scraps left from the W & N I have to be careful when I decide to piece mine together to make a larger one.

We purchase 122" poly low loft (30 yards) for my QOV quilts and can get two quilt tops out, side-by-side. Go to the following site: [email protected] and then compare. I like their prices and FREE shipping. The also sell packaged battings. Just be aware of the need for storage space. I call the roll a gorilla which stands guard in the corner of my sewing room.

I buy all my batting by the rolls. It is the cheapest and only way to go. I buy my batting from Heartbeat quilting. They are awesome to buy from. They are so much cheaper than anywhere I have found. I do have six rolls right now. 2 of hobbs cotton, two of hobbs down, 1 of wool and one 120" of hobbs down for kings. All are 108" except the one. I save all left over from smaller quilts and its perfect for runners, baby quilts and wall hangings. I hardly have any waist. I did buy extra because I am getting ready to retire and wanted to get stocked up for that and while prices were still affordable. Forgot I just ordered a roll of black cotton for my dark quilts. So that means I have 7 :0)
