I have made some Bow Tucks bags that seem to be pretty popular, and have made several bags that are just "make up as I go" bags. I have some Lazy Girl bag patterns, and have seen a lot of them made up, but I have not made one yet.

I usually make up my own pattern. My favorite size is about 15-18 in. tall, and about 12-15 in. wide. I line them and use fusible fleece between the outside and the lining. Sometimes I put patch pockets on the inside, sometimes on the outside, and sometimes both, depending on what I'll be using it for.

I have made several "Veranda" bags and they are a good size with plenty of pockets.

I, too, make my own patterns and have for years. There are some patterns that you buy that say can only be made for personal use and cannot sell. I've made diaper bags and handbags of various sizes and designs that I have designed and know where they came from. You don't have to worry about copyright issues with your designs.

I like the Brittany Bag Pattern because the directions are great, there are lots of pictures, the bag has lots of pockets and it has covers that you can add to make it match whatever you are wearing. It is available at www.anembroideredaffair.com

I've made a few different styles for DSIL but when I made her a Bow Tucks all her friends wanted them too. I made more than ten. Lost count after that. Just finished one that is going to Western Australia so am hoping I may pick up a few orders from there.

Thanks for all the ideas and free pattern options - now I just have to decide which one I'll make first...may have to make more than one =)

I use only Studio Kat Designs patterns. They are so pretty, so well thought out, and carefully planned. Kathy really puts a lot of time and effort into every pattern. I got into it through the purse organizers I bought thru Clotilde's. And now I am hooked. They are really beautiful. She thinks of everything.
