    I have not done the carpenters star but I have done the hidden wells one and it came out really great and was really easy to do. you just have to watch your cutting. and make sure you alternate what direction you sew your fabric in when sewing the strips together.

    French braid!!! Really easy and always gets a lot of attention. For a wall hanging, perhaps a OBW or a Ricky Tims Kool Kaleidoscope. Again, real easy, but non-quilters are always impressed.

    4-Patch or 9-path with a feature fabric as the alternate block. Quick and pretty.
