Hi everyone...Thanks for the warm welcome..I am so happy to find a place to talk to other quilters.

My family reunion is in KY in less than 4 weeks and I need to make at LEAST one hopefully 2 quilts by then..Yeah I know I should have started months ago..I want simple but unique patterns and something that goes farely fast and is gonna pack a big wow factor. I have done a weaver fever quilt before and had planned to do that as one..well I have been looking for the pattern for a week (I lost it somehow- maybe when we moved) So now I cant find it and have no idea what I am going to do the closest quilt store to where I live is hours away and I dont have time to order it and have it shipped...

Can anyone give me and suggestions on patterns that I could do that would pack a pig wow factor but are fairly uick and easy...my family love my quilts and beg me to make some every year and I hate to disappoint them this year (we raffle the quilts)

Warm wishes , turning twenty. Look for free patterns online . there are lots of good ones.

One of the easiest quilts I've ever made was called "Pieces of Eight" found at Creations, Kerrville,TX. It used co-ordinating fabrics, cut into 8" squares, and sewn back together. There were not even any borders! So far,it's the only quilt my 28 yr.old daughter claimed as hers.
If you like scrappy, I 'm sure you could do it that way.

The twister quilt or whatever it's called. Really easy. Looks hard but beautiful. I even made my own ruler from a tutorial on here.

There is a tutorial on Disappearing Nine Patch on the board that is easy and can look very nice depending on your fabric choices. Go to Pictures and check the Quilt Gallery for lots of versions of it. The Four Patch Posy is a very interesting pattern as well. That is where you stack 4 fabric repeats and cut your blocks from the fabric in exactly the same spot. It gives you a kaleidoscope effect and is very pretty with small sashing. Warm Wishes is another quick but pretty pattern.

I second the D9P. I am working on one right now. Decided on it Sunday, cut the strips and wil finish putting the original blocks together this morming. I figure I will have the top complete by Wednesday night.

Thank you all so very much...I looked up all the patterns and looked thru the gallery some....

I like some of the D9P's and that might be an option if I can find the instructions

I found some quilts in the gallery i love they are diamond log cabins I guess...or a log cabin star going to go look for the patterns for both of those

also might consider the carperters star for a baby quilt I was thinking of doing..
