I agree! I learn more from this board than anywhere else. Now that being said I'm not sure I know what cashier strips for quilting means?

Love your list. Lots of great ideas and tips. One question I do have is what do you have against polymix fabric?

You sew small pieces of fabric on the cashier tape and trim the exces. You sew it on the paper because it keeps all the small pieces stable and prevents bowing. I hope this helps.

I have nothing against poly mix except when combined with cotton which is not pre washed your quilt WILL be wonky. Poly mix does not shrink, and if it does it is very little compared to cotton. Also, after many years of using and washing quilts, poly mix will wear better. The color will not fade but the cotton pieces will. IMHO making quilts from all poly mix is fine, such as symphony broadcloth. In crazy quilts also anything goes. But, from my own experience mixing cotton and poly mix led to weird looking quilts. I have to underline here that I am not a pre washer, so it is my own fault for ending with a wonky quilt.

I particularly like your comment about ugly fabric! What a hoot. That's a great list of things to remember when quilting. Thanks for putting it together.

I love your quilt! I also love the post - I have learned the same lessons from the family on the Board.
